WEATHER UNDERGROUND For The Associated Press= The low pressure system that was responsible for the widespread heavy rain in the Great Plains was expected to lift northeast into the Great Lakes and Northeast on Wednesday, carrying a cold front through the Ohio Valley and Tennessee Valley. This would result in widespread coverage of showers and thunderstorms east of the Mississippi Valley, with a risk of severe thunderstorms across parts of the Mid-Atlantic from Virginia to Pennsylvania.
