EU assures Cameron 'we don't want more power'... after PM has bacon and eggs in Brussels



David Cameron will today fight to defend Britain’s right to set its own budgets in the face of another Brussels power grab. At his first European Union summit since winning power, the Prime Minister will refuse to sign up to plans to get the UK’s Budget signed off by the EU before it is delivered to Parliament. And Downing Street is planning to resist plans drawn up by the Germans to slap financial penalties on countries that do not rein in their spending.
