1 dead, 4 hurt after small plane crashes in Alaska



The Associated Press ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Authorities say a small plane has crashed in a business district near downtown Anchorage, Alaska, killing a child and injuring four other people. Sue Rodman, spokeswoman for the Anchorage Fire Department, says all five people were onboard the plane. She says the four who were hurt were hospitalized, but she had no information on their condition or the severity of their injuries. Police Lt. Dave Parker says as least one of the injured has been flown to a Seattle hospital. No names or hometowns were released. Parker says the plane clipped the roof of a motel before crashing in front of a former car lot office, starting a fire, at about 5 p.m. Tuesday....
